TITLE: Chemist
SCHEDULE OPTIONS:
Tuesday – Saturday
Sunday – Thursday
AM Shift(6:00AM – 2:30PM)
PM Shift (2:00PM – 10:30PM)
SCOPE:
The Chemist is the laboratory’s Mass Spectrometry expert who works under the direction of the Science Director. The incumbent is responsible for the operation, workflow, and supervision of the chemistry section.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains an effective culture of laboratory safety.
- Keeps Science Director informed of daily production progress.
- Responsible for the operation of the analytical equipment including; LCMSMS, GCMSMS, HPLC, HS-GC-FID, and ICPMS;
- Load and run analytical equipment; Analyze batch output for conformity to SOP; Perform preventive maintenance on analytical equipment.
- Responsibly manages the consumable and capital resources of the section and reports the needs to the Laboratory Director.
- Proactively communicates needs and issues with Laboratory Director and other corporate staff
- Demonstrate risk assessment and consideration of the evidence with every decision, and appropriately prioritizes work.
- Updates SOPs with necessary changes and revisions while ensuring proper document control.
- Analyzes test results to generate and report Certificates of Analysis (COAs) to clients within established Turnaround Times (TAT).
- Completes Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and Preventative Action Reports (PARs) when necessary.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field.
- Experience working in a regulated laboratory with a strict QA and QC programs
- Experience with control software for Shimadzu, Agilent, and Sciex.
- Experience with LCMSMS, GCMSMS, HPLC, HS-GC-FID, and ICPMS instruments

Pay: $22.00 – $32.00 per hour’
